Obituary

On February 24, 1965 you graced the world with your presence. On May 14, 1994 you became a husband, and on September 5, 2017 you became a guardian angel. You were taken way too soon, however you left an indelible mark on everyone who met you! You were a wonderful husband, brother, uncle, son, friend, neighbor, and citizen. You were a role model and an inspiration to everyone who knew you.

Husband of Jennifer Morrison, Son of Timothy Morrison and Madge Bingham, brother to George (Junior), Esther (Juliet), Howard, Michael, Marcia (Winsome) and Owen (Bobby) Morrison, and Antonio, Ricardo and Angie Eldridge. You enriched the lives of each of your nieces and nephews, too many to list. All who met you have fond recollections of your encounters, many of which involved an act of kindness, a funny story or a sincere sentiment.

You were fiercely protective of those you loved. Your love for your family and close friends was evident, and you would stop at nothing to help out when needed. Your creative problem solving ability was unparalleled, and your ability to carry on a conversation with just about anyone was unique and sometimes infuriating to those around you!

You made a career out of helping people have more successful and fulfilling lives through travel, homeownership and financial independence. Never one to follow the "traditional" route, your motto of "Success in spite of, not because of" has been a beacon for many.

You will be remembered physically for your brilliant smile, handsome face and bright sparkling eyes. The most important memory of you, however, will be for your character, which was that of a saint. You have been described as a "Renaissance man:" intelligent, chivalrous, and faithful to those who you loved. You had a way of inspiring, enlightening, and even disagreeing with others without creating animosity and contempt. You had a positive outlook on just about every situation and there was no problem you could not solve.

For those who loved and understood you we know your talents were needed elsewhere. It does not ease the pain of losing you in this life, however we know that we will all be reunited some day. You did not fear death and we are comforted in the realization that we will see you again. Until then we will celebrate your life, while continuing to honor your memory by living our lives as you lived yours; with honor and dignity. Happy Happy!

In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to The University of Michigan Club of Central Florida Scholarship Fund in Hopeton's memory via this link: http://victo.rs/2x2VoPN
Knowing how much Hopeton influenced young people in our own family and circle of friends is, it is comforting to know that in some small way he will continue to do so through gifts to the scholarship fund. He truly was a "Victor for Life" and his spirit embodied everything that is good about the University.
